Grades
Thestructureof naturallygrownwood isverydiverse. You findportions that haveanevengrain freeof knots right next toportionswhichare livelygrained.
HARO therefore„grades“ the rawmaterial according todifferent characteristics toachieve thedifferentdesigns, eachwith itsownconsistent visual appearance:

Wood isanatural product.Deviations incolour,
textureandknots from thesamplesare therefore
possible.
Longstrippatternsmaydiffer in the lamella-
length.
Exoticwoodspecies:
Exoticwoodspeciescan featuremineral deposits,
whichcanappear later onasstainingon thesur-
face.Mineral depositsarenatural characteristics
of certainspeciesofwoodandshouldcauseno
reason for complaint.
Thermowoodspecies:
Due toextensive thermal processes, thewood
speciesbecomedarker incolouration. Thebrittle-
nessof thewood, causedbyexertionof heat, can
generate the formationof shaleon thesurface.
A further typical signof thisprocess is thesmell
of the“open fireplace”. As isnormal for dark
woodspecies, thermo-treatedwoods tend to
become lighter incolour due toexposure to light.
SauvageGrade:
Due to its lively-natural appearance, theSauvage
Grade in thewoodspeciesbeech, oakand larch
isdetached fromconventional gradespecifica-
tions. Knotsandcracksare typical optical charac-
teristics. Givenclimat fluctuations, the formation
of shaleon thesurface ispossible.
