With this brochure we would like to present
you the actual situation on the field of renew-
able energy sources and rational use of ener-
gy, which importance is enhancing day after
day. We have included the basic available and
exploitable alternative energy sources as well
as accesses and advices for rational use of
energy.
BIOMASS
The Energy sector is treating the biomass as
an organic substance, which can be exploited
as an energy source. Largely it is recognized
the use of wood biomass, that is natural wood
or forestry and industrywastes.
The share of wood biomass exploitation in
Pomurje isprettyhigh, as it is themost famous
and the most exploitable source. Wood as a
fuel is usually being exploiting in three differ-
ent shapes and dimensions such as firewood,
chips or pellets.
Thewoodiness in Pomurje is about 30%. The
yearly increaseofwoodbiomass in the forests
of Pomurjemakes223.000m

fact, that it is allowed to exploit about 62% of
thewood, in fact it is being fellingmuch less.
